SWIFTWATER RESCUE TECHNICIAN Advanced
Swiftwater Rescue Technician Advanced focuses on developing the skills and equipment knowledge of first responders for more technical water rescues. This course exceeds NFPA Standards 1006 (2021) and 1670 (2017) for technician-level requirements.
This course has been curated by our team of experts and includes advanced training in hydrology (river features), low-head dam assessment, throwbag skills, swimming, boating skills, contact rescues, live crossing, MCP/high line, vortex drills, live bait drills, search management, pick-offs, litter packaging, raising & lowering evolutions, and more! Prerequisites:
- All students MUST complete Swiftwater Rescue Technician training prior to this course.

- 16 hours (2 days)
- Advanced Certification Course Cost: $225
Equipment & What To Bring:
- Water rescue helmet
- Drysuit or wetsuit
- Type “V” Rescue PFD w/ load release
- Water gloves
- Water boots or shoes
- Whistle
- Throwbag
- Knife (optional, but recommended)
- We recommend bringing a second set of clothes, towel, sunscreen, plenty of water, snacks and lunch (depending on water site location).
